Hey Everyone, so much news!
First off, I am proud to mention that I am now in the Hall of Fame of SickDrummer.com and have an hour long Podcast up there now where I talk about all the crazy projects I do. I'm a columnist in the first issue of Sick Drummer Magazine out July 1st too. Go check it all out now!
Second, Blotted Science got together in Florida at Mana Studios to rehearse for future touring and it went great. We are going to post some pics and a video of the craziness that went down on all of our sites soon.
I'm currently tracking drums for the new record from the mighty Suspyre called "When Time Fades" coming out on on Sensory/Laser's Edge. I'm also going to be playing their CD Release party at the NJ Proghouse and playing the ProgPower Europe Festival with them in the Netherlands.
I'm also recording the upcoming album by Ken Rubenstein, just finished recording the album/music videos for The Great Kat and am working with Australian band Amber Fall on their full length besides doing some tracks for Michael Shouse and Lindsay Drew.
The US/Canada Tour with Behold the Arctopus went very well and we had a great time playing the Maryland Deathfest and will be doing a full US Tour in August and will be hitting the Quevillion Metal Fest in Canada.
I'm also hitting the Cutting Room next week with melodic guitar virtuoso Chris Mahoney at 9pm on Saturday July 21st. So make sure to come to that one.
The new Jordan Rudess Online Conservatory course called "Extreme Drum Solo Mastery" is being edited now and should be done by mid-July so keep an eye out for that.
I am going to launch some new features to this site soon including a Gear section, a subscription based Video section and a Online Session Drummer section to get me on your record whereever you are around the world!
I am up on the RhythmTech website showcasing some of their product in a trailer for the Jordan videos along with Drummerszone.com and YouTube.com.
Finally, I am honored to be asked by
the legendary Terry Bozzio
to be a guest on his new Drummer TV Station called The
Drum Channel. It looks like I'll be hanging with him in LA on my next
tour and doing an interview and playing a bit which should be awesome.

Mega Update! (scroll down)
We are finished tracking the advanced drum videos for the Jordan Rudess Online Conservatory. It is called "Extreme Drum Solo Mastery" and it came out incredibly well. It showcases me playing all styles of music and also me playing Blotted Science and Behold the Arctopus material with full explanations.
Go to JROC.US for the basic drum instructional videos I did that are up already. The new series will be out Summer 2008!
I am also very happy to say that I have a profile up on SickDrummer.com complete with an interview, pics, articles and videos! Make sure to tune in to the Live Podcast on Monday May 26th at 9pm too.
I also have my feature interview in the current issue of Batterie Magazine in France with Carmine and Vinnie Appice on the cover and articles of Ray Luzier, Aaron Spears and Gene Hoglan within.
I've got some serious touring with Behold the Arctopus coming up too. We are doing a month long US/Canada Tour from April to May ending with the Maryland Deathfest and then another Full US Tour in August to September so check the TOUR page for info.
The Lincoln Center photos are up as are some new promo photos from NAMM and otherwise so check the PHOTOS page for those.
The new Kayo Dot record comes out on May 6th through Hydra Head Records, so make sure to pick that one up. It is a surreal and amazingly moving experience from Toby Driver and company.
Some other huge things are in the mix
coming up but have to wait to make them official. Until then Rock On!

The NAMM Show was great and I got to do a couple photo shoots which was a
ball.
I am now endorsing Rhythm Tech percussion, Protection Racket cases and Roc-n-Soc stools to place in the Jordan Rudess Online Conservatory advanced drum instruction video series I am in pre-production for right now.
This time I'm the guest artist and will be doing a 60-90 minute course called "Extreme Drum Solo Mastery" where I'll break down solos from Blotted Science, Behold the Arctopus and also do a Gospel Chops piece, a Bozzio Ostinato piece, a Bebop Jazz Kit improvisation and might even do a normal Groove solo.
Even though I am a Session Drummer and play mostly Pop/Rock, Jazz/Fusion and Hiphop/R&B, I am honored to be one of the "Best Heavy Metal Drummers" in this month's Blender Magazine. I am mentioned along with the likes of Danny Carey, Lars Ulrich and, the ultimate winner, Tomas Haake from Meshuggah. Its got the fake Britney Spears cover and is on newstands now.
I am still also hard at work doing drum
tracks for various artists in NYC and online and will be announcing at least
2 national and international tours I'll be embarking on soon. So stay tuned!

Music Guide
"Zeleny's drumming has to be heard to even be believed."
Indie
Workshop
"Drummer Charlie Zeleny is solid and relentlessly creative."
Jordan
Rudess, keyboardist of Dream Theater
"Charlie is the busiest drummer on the east coast. He has more energy
than all of us put together. This guy can play in 4/4 as well as anybody and
can count in 15/16 while doing it!"
Progressive
Ears
"The drumming of Charlie Zeleny, whose credentials read like a who's
who of metal, prog and jazz, is pure magic."
CD Baby
"Incredible drumming from Charlie Zeleny...all at once accessible, eclectic,
introspective, energetic and ultimately uplifting modern music."
All
Music Guide
"All of these labyrinthine patterns are pummeled into overdrive by drummer
Charlie Zeleny (who can play circles around any speed metal drummer anywhere
and whose blastbeats are trademarks in themselves)."
Ron
Jarzombek of Spastic Ink, Gordian Knot and Watchtower
"Charlie brings incredible dexterity and a fearless no-holds-barred approach
to the drumset. Not only is Charlie a fantastic player, but hes a great communicator
as well."
GuitarMasterclass.net
"I had to give Charlie Zeleny a 10/10 as his drumming is absolutely gobsmacking.
From intense blast beats to intricate touches and jazz influences the guy
is the perfect drummer...Its a true drum showcase."
Crave
Magazine
"Drummer Charlie Zeleny has definitely come into his own. His lightning
quick fills and keen sense of rhythm steal him the show over his equally talented
bandmates. It sounds like something Buddy Rich might have played if he had
lived long enough..."
Sea
of Tranquility
"Zeleny is an absolute monster on the drums, and holds the distinction
of playing on two of 2007's sickest instrumental metal releases: Behold the
Arctopus' Skullgrid and Blotted Science's Machinations of Dementia."
Behold...The Arctopus/Blotted Science
Jordan Rudess, keyboardist
of Dream Theater
"Behold the Arctopus is truely insane. Some of the wildest (be prepared)
bone-crunching music I have heard in a while. These guys are awesome players.
Absolutely SICK. Compared to them Dream Theater is new age!"
Amazon.com
"Charlie Zeleny is quite simply godlike, staying synchronized with the
other two thirds of the band through the fastest of speeds and most complex
of rhythms."
Metal Maniacs Magazine
"The three members [of Behold...The Arctopus] portray all aspects of
jazz, progressive rock and the sickest and most technical math metal you can
name. Go ahead, name a band you think is some hot shit, and the 'Pus has 'em
beat, hands down."
Rate
Your Music.com
"Charlie Zeleny's drumming routine should become an option for the Jenny
Craig Program, shedding I'm guessing ten pounds after every arm snapping,
barrel bashing performance."
ClassicRockRevisited.com
"[Blotted Science is] tighter than tight. Zeleny's crash cymbals slay.
Hate to say it, but Bobby Jarzombek couldn't have done better."
UnboundZine.com
"What do you get when you put three of the best musicians the metal world
has ever seen together? You get Blotted Science."
MetalJazz.com
"[Blotted Science] is about the most extreme, powerful, heavy explosion
of power-trio frustration you can imagine."
SeaofTranquility.com
"[Blotted Science's Ron Jarzombek] leads the charge here, taking herculean
bassist Webster and dynamo Zeleny through 16 tracks of absolutely jaw dropping
insanity that will appeal to any fan of technical metal, fusion, or complex
& aggressive progressive rock."
MetalTeamUK.net
"[Blotted Science's] Jarzombek, Webster and Zeleny deserve recognition
and acclaim for this album, because they manage to seamlessly integrate all
their many talents AND leave you with an experience that captivates, crushes
and enthrals."
Uranium
Music
"An instrumental 3-piece that will fry any brain that attempts to keep
up with their tech wizardry. Behold... The Arctopus is the epitome of avant-garde,
experimental metal, the pinnacle of jazz fusion and tech metal insanity."
Pivotal
Alliance
"Behold . . . The Arctopus is a technical-progressive metal trio whose
all-instrumental science-fiction epics cover just about every musical style,
time-signature, and scale ever created. "
Sputnik
Music
"Skullgrid is easily the most complex and challenging release of the
year, and metal fans and musicians alike should take a listen, if only to
be humbled by three guys with more musical prowess than a graduating class
at Berklee."
